What is Next Gen doing to keep me safe?
We’ve reviewed every aspect of club operations including the bits you don’t see. We have put in place extensive processes and protocols to ensure your safety and are following all Australian Government guidelines including guidelines set by SA Health, Fitness Australia and Worksafe Australia.
We’ve done a deep clean. We’ve gone over every corner of the club to ensure the facility is thoroughly and hygienically clean.
We’ve trained our team in Covid-19 specific safety measures.
Every team member in the club has completed mandatory Covid-19 safety
training before being allowed on shift. We will continually test and
retrain to ensure that our people have the most up to date skills and
knowledge to keep you safe.
We’ve created more space in club for social distancing. We’ve removed or moved equipment apart to ensure we have space between stations. We are applying a 1.5m physical distancing rule. Please ensure you follow all floor markings, signage and verbal instructions.
We’ve limited class numbers
in line with SA Government restrictions in place and to ensure social
distancing. All classes must be booked in advance. If you cannot make
any class you have booked in for, please cancel your booking to allow
others to join the class. Should you fail to cancel your booking and do
not show to your class three times within a rolling month, we have a
three strike policy in place in which members will receive a one week
ban from booking into group fitness classes.
Additional sanitisation stations.
Our team will ensure everyone who enters the club has access to hand
sanitiser. We have additional stations throughout the club and more
equipment wipes. If you need more hand sanitiser at anytime please alert
a staff member.
Mandatory towel use is being enforced. If you do not have a workout towel you will need to hire one.
We’re health checking our team. We’re committed to keeping you safe, so we’re screening our team. Every staff member will have a temperature check and mini health assessment before they start their shift. Every single time we hit the floor to help you we will be in tip top health.
We’ve put up area-specific capacity signage to communicate the number of members allowed in a given area for social distancing.
What should you do to help?
Scan in AND out of the club – every time you visit. We need to know when you’re here, exactly. We know most people scan in properly most of the time, but now it’s even more important that you do! In the first instance it will be key to us controlling capacity to ensure that we comply with all government restrictions. And secondly, in the unlikely event that we come into contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, we want to be able to contact you – immediately.
Covid-Safe Check-In Please check in with the SA Government Covid-Safe app or manually sign in at Reception every time you visit.
Bring a clean workout towel. It’s always been a rule in our clubs to have a towel while you workout, but we know that sometimes you forget, and we have made exceptions. We’ll be becoming very strict on this one now though, so make sure you pack your towel. You will be able to hire one at reception if you forget.
BYO mats. Bring your own mats or towels from home to use for yoga, pilates, mediation, stretching, core work etc. We’ll be putting our mats away for the next little while due to their large contact surface areas.
BYO water bottles. Please bring your own water bottle with you, and don’t share it with others. You can now refill from fountains.
Keep your distance (1.5m) We all do this all of the time now, it’s almost second nature! That said, we want to remind everyone that it is still very important, even as restrictions ease. We’ll be keeping an eye out to ensure appropriate physical distancing is taking place. Check for floor markings to help guide you, and if in doubt use two arm lengths as a guide.
Observe area capacity limits. Some areas will be more restricted than others. Please follow signage and all team member directions.
Wipe down equipment before AND after use. It goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway – please wipe down all equipment after use. We will be doing extra cleaning at this time, but we need you to help us keep the club environment safe. We’re all in this together!
Wash your hands and use hand sanitiser
Wash or sanitise your hands before entering the club and when moving
through different club areas. Use the hand sanitizer provided throughout
Practice good cough/sneeze/hand hygiene.
Cough and sneeze into your elbow. If you have a tissue, use it, and
then discard it in a closed bin immediately after use. Wash your hands
for 20 seconds with soap and water afterwards or use hand sanitiser. If
you need some more hand sanitiser please see a staff member.
Stay home if you’re unwell. Take care of yourself first, and in turn you’ll be taking care of others. Even if you have a sniffle, please stay home and rest until you are well. If you have COVID-19 symptoms please seek medical advice.
Be kind to each other. We’re all facing a great deal of uncertainty. The member across from you in class could be having a tough time, or the person behind reception, or maybe you are. If we all extend our patience and compassion just a little bit further to every person in our Next Gen community, we can make our club a haven in these uncertain times.
Do I need to wear a mask?
Masks are mandatory in all shared public areas. Masks can be removed when swimming, participating in cardio based studio classes, cardio exercise and when eating and drinking in the café.
How will you enforce capacity limits?
member must also swipe in and out of the club. Once 1000 people are
inside the building we will know and from that point members will be
unable to enter. This is why it is imperative that every member swipes
in and out of the club, and books in advance for their session and
classes so we know exactly how many people are in our space at any given
How will you do contact tracing?
member must swipe in and out of the club. Both the entry and exit times
of your visit will be recorded so we will know exactly when you were
here, and who was in the club at that time with you. In order to
recommence your membership you will have been asked to update your
membership contact details. With this information we will be able to
support fast and efficient contact tracing in the unlikely event that it
Will sanitising stations be available?
you will see these throughout the club and at Reception. The Ministry
of Health also recommends you wash your hands with soap and water often
(for at least 20 seconds).
What about physical distancing? Is it 1m, 1.5m, 2m or…?
We will be following the 1.5m distance rule in our clubs. When it comes to studios for instance, that means you’ll have 4 square metres to yourself. Signage in the entrance to different club areas will inform you of the maximum capacity of that space based on 4 square metre guidelines.
What about your staff?
staff have undergone training and will be abiding by all physical
distancing, room limitations and other restrictions. Please be kind to
our team as we all adapt to this new way of working, and working out.
